OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR SAFETY At HaoIs Musical School, the safety of our students, teachers and staff is our priority. Here are some of the measures we are taking to ensure the well-being of our staff, students and Musical Theatre families. - Each Day students will need Paper or Digital COVID screening prior to entry into the building and for tracing purposes. - Limited class sizes with bigger classroom. Each student will have their own space to ensure the regulated physical distancing. - Reduced facility capacity to limit the number of people in the space as per current regulations. - Masks are required in all common spaces and studios at all times. - The physical distancing of at least 2 meters is required between all people inside the building. - Frequent sanitation (before and after each class) of studios/spaces, common areas and regular touchpoints. To ensure that our school remains safe for all students and in compliance with the Ontario COVID-19 Guidelines, we have implemented a list of new policies and procedures to protect our members as we reopen. We ask that you please review this policy.
CAMP END / YEAR-END SHOWCASES 2021 - 2022 We fully intend and hope to produce the Camp/Term/Year End Showcase for the 2021-2022 season. As Government regulations are released we will provide more details on what our showcase performances will entail. However, HaoIs musical school reserves the right to cancel or pivot these productions based on the safety guidelines outlined by the province and local municipalities.

HaoIs Musical School will strictly follow all guidelines provided by “Ontario Dance and Performing Arts Studios Workplace Guidelines for COVID-19” & Ontario Public Health and Safety. We are committed to providing a safe space. The following is a list of protocols that you can expect at the studio.
DROP OFF PROTOCOLS All students are encouraged to enter through Building Entrance face South, at the corner of Poyntz Ave and Yonge St. no less than 15 minutes prior to the start of class. There will be Covid screening forms to sign at the door, and a temperature check of each student before entering the studio.
- Primary Students (Grade 3 and below) One parent/guardian will be permitted to enter the facility with their child. Both parent and student will be required to complete a paper Covid screening.
- All parents who are entering the building must declare their vaccination status to HaoIs staff by showing their vaccination records. All other students (Grade 4 and above) will be required to complete a Covid screening questionnaire upon entering. Parents of this age group will NOT be permitted inside the facility due to reduced studio capacity to follow physical distancing measures.
COVID SCREENING - All staff, teachers, students and any parents entering the building must complete a COVID screening questionnaire prior to arrival or upon arrival each day at the door. - All parents, staff and teachers who are entering the building must declare their vaccination status to HaoIs staff. - Stay Home if Sick: Students must stay home if they have a fever or are feeling generally unwell. Please contact the studio if you will be staying home. Staff will also stay home if they are feeling unwell. Students are not permitted to enter the facility if the screening questionnaire is incomplete. Please click the link below for the Self-Screening tool. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/ - Missed classes due to COVID cannot be refunded, but will not count towards the overall absence limit of 2 per term, not including summer or winter theatre camps. *Special circumstances may apply. - All absences will be followed up on for COVID tracing purposes. - Siblings or parents of students who also attend our programs who show symptoms of COVID-19 will also not be permitted to enter the building. - All students should enter and exit using the Building Entrance faces South, at the corner of Poyntz Ave and Yonge St and keep a 2m distance from other families while in line to enter. - Personal belonging brought to the school should be minimized and not shared between individuals. Personal items (eg. Backpacks, clothing, shoes, towels, food, devices) should be labelled or clearly identifiable, reserved for personal use only. - If you or your family has been exposed to COVID-19 please let the school know immediately by calling or emailing (contact information below). - Once the student has entered the building, HaoIs staff will direct students to their appropriate studio. Waiting chairs have been placed, socially distant, outside each studio. - Due to reduced studio capacity, parents will not be permitted to wait inside the school studio. - Should a student, teacher or staff member test positive for COVID-19, any students/parents they may have been in close contact with will be notified immediately via email.
PICK UP PROTOCOLS: - Primary Students (Grade 3 and below) One parent/guardian per primary child will be permitted to enter the facility. They will enter through the Building Entrance face South, at the corner of Poyntz Ave and Yonge St and go to the 3rd floor no more than five minutes prior to the end of class. Parents will follow HaoIs staff to the appropriate classroom to pick up the student. - All parents and students will exit through the elevator. All other students (Grade 4 and above) will be released promptly at the end of class.
COVID PROTOCOLS: - Our school-specific mask protocols: All students and staff are required to wear masks indoors - in common areas and inside the studios, and while dancing and singing. If eating snacks between classes students can remove their mask but must remain at a 2m physical distance from other students, and off to the side during water breaks. - Physical Disdancing: Stickers and floor tape have been placed throughout the studio to mark one-way pathways and dance areas for students. Staff will ensure that the dancers maintain physical distancing. - Schedule: We have adjusted our 2021/2022 schedule to allow breaks between classes for staff to sanitize the dance floors and all surfaces. All updated schedule information is available on our website. - Frequent Cleaning and Sanitation: Strict cleaning protocols will be in place. The facility will be properly sanitized and cleaned thoroughly daily. - Limited physical contact: Our staff will not be providing any hands-on corrections to students at this time. Teachers will provide verbal feedback, corrections and clear explanations through their coaching, while maintaining physical distancing. Teachers will only provide hands-on corrections that are needed for the safety of students. - Stay Home if Sick: Students must stay home if they have a fever or are feeling generally unwell. Please contact the studio if you will be staying home. Staff will also stay home if they are feeling unwell. Students are not permitted to enter the facility if the screening questionnaire is incomplete. - Reduced Class Sizes: Our class sizes have been reduced to maintain social distancing within the studios. Class sizes range from 8-15 dancers, depending on the size of the studio, each student will have their own set of materials in their designated square should their class require. Any shared materials will be sanitized between use, and all materials sanitized prior to the following class. - All studio spaces are equipped with a hand sanitizer station and Disinfection wipes for material wipe down. - Washroom breaks will be limited to 1 student at a time and each studio will have their own designated washroom to use. - We have procedures in place should a student show symptoms of COVID-19 during class. They will be escorted by a teacher to our designated isolation area where they will be supervised by a staff member until a parent/guardian can come to pick them up. Staff will follow up with the family regarding COVID testing for tracing purposes.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE SCHOOL: Students must arrive dressed in comfortable clothes that allow them to move freely. They will NOT be able to change attire between classes. Indoor/Dance shoes will be put on once inside the studio. Please only bring what you need into the studio. No large bags or extra items/clothing. Students should bring a water bottle with enough water to last the full class.
