YOUTH THEATRE TROUPE (8-16y)
​*Audition Required

This program is for youth aged 8-16 who are ready to learn more advanced musical theatre skills. Students in this class will also have more opportunities for Music Festival Competitions, Commercial Theatre Production participants, on stage performance opportunities for various events in the GTA and more.

Students in this class will learn:
  • Musical stories and storytelling skills
  • How to analyze context of each musical piece
  • Advanced singing and voice projection
  • Advanced dance and choreography
  • How to develop and portray a character onstage
  • How to perform in an ensemble, with opportunities for big or small solo parts
  • Stage presence and confidence

Enrollment requirements

  • Audition required
  • Must have previous singing, dancing or acting learning experience
  • Interested in musical theatre performance
  • Able to communicate and read lyrics and scripts in English
  • Able to follow teacher instructions and give timely responses
  • Able to learn and remember all lyrics, dance movements, and scripts in a timely manner
  • Willing to try new things and take on challenges with the teacher's guidance
  • Willing to practice after class regularly at home
  • Willing to proactively do research about their given characters at home

  • Advanced level solo and ensemble performances of carefully selected musical and popular songs
  • Designed complex stage blocking with different levels
  • Designed solo or group dance combinations

END-OF-TERM SHOWCASE

*School uniform is required for new students at a cost of $30 per person.
​*$60 class material fee is included per term
​*Students are invited to participate in a cabaret-style showcase at the end of the term to perform on stage in front of an audience of their friends and family.
A participation fee of $200 is required per person to cover performance costs. ​​
